Back in 2014, the Berkeley Art Museum / Pacific Film Archive sourced 100 metronomes from Houston-based Musiqa for a final performance in BAM/PFA’s former site (a loving nod to its opening performance there, I think.) Musiqa was renting those metronomes to anyone preparing to perform György Ligeti’s Poème Symphonique for 100 metronomes, and was ready to conclude the rental program.

I acquired the metronomes from Musiqa after the BAM/PFA performance and learned I was one of three sources for 100 metronomes, including composer Gregory Oh (Canadian-based performances) and metronome makers Wittner GMBH (Europan-based performances, email wittner@wittner-gmbh.de for current rates, availability and shipping details).

For the rest of 2024, the metronomes are offline for repair / replacement and new shipping cases. Stay tuned for updates.
